Top 10 Beauty Trends in 2015
We all know how 2014 has been a great year for beauty. And we expect better things for beauty this New Year. In 2014, rainbow hair colors, no-makeup selfies and even brows that are bleached captured our imagination. We are making the same call this year that will sweep through social media. We predict the following trends to dominate your Instagram posts for the rest of the year.
Bright pink lipstick
It is predicted that bright pink lipstick will be the dominant thing this year. Orange red lips dominated the runway last year. And reds have been the staple of the runways for years. This year, 2015, will mark a huge shift as the traditional shades will hit the back pocket and let the bright pink to capture the spotlight for once. The nice thing about bright pink is that there is a shade that should be suitable to any skin tone.
Blank space manicure
Two-tone manicure with a blank strip of space will be the trend this 2015. The nail art is surely on its way out. Now, the two-tone manicure with a touch of blank space is going to dominate the wacky side of manicures this New Year.
Shorter hair dos
Lob and other shorter hair dos will be the new in thing as far as hair is concerned. Office women would like to have a new lob or shorter hair as a convenience than a fashion statement. It would be nicer to have this as a way to convince women to get their hair done shorter.
This year, we will be seeing more beauty and make-up products doubling as skincare products too. This is not a new thing, but the usage will become more prominent this year than it ever was.
The braid is making a comeback this year as we have seen in some of the runways last year. Grooming products will be released specifically to help to make your braid tougher.
The focus on beauty products this year would be on all-natural beauty products. There will be an expansion on this beauty segment that started in 2014.
Coconut oil use has not been that dominant in beauty, at least in the West. But, this lowly oil will make a storm when used as a natural make-up remover and to replace harsher chemical-based products that may not so hypoallergenic after all. We are getting much attention to this product on the beauty products aisle this year.
Metallic accent will be making a bold and cold statement this year. This could be a follow-up to the no-makeup trend in the selfies. Although, this is not a look that is universal, but it can make some people get away with it. More metallic mascara or eyeliners will dominate the make-up scene this year.
Sunkissed look on hair will dominate the hair colors this year. The painted on colors will look good on some women this year. Yes, we’re looking at you Jessica Biel.
Another strong contender for the make-up trend this year is the nude make-up. It is a follow-up to the Instagram-success of no make-up. It is all about using make up to give subtle enhancements to the face and not covering the whole thing with make-up. It is all about giving the face that realistic flush.
